Henry Wen

Born 1963 on Hainan Island. Graduated from Hainan University 1983. Started a commercial career in 1983 as one of the pioneer Chinese businesspeople when China had just started economic reformation and opening to the outside world. Jointly started and promoted the lottery business in China in 1989, which was then a major capitalist business in a communist country and caused a huge political and social controversy. Due to this controversy, emigrated in 1995 to Seychelles, and then on to Ireland in 2000. Based in Ireland since then as a businessman involved in politics. One of the most active leaders of the Chinese community in Ireland and current President of Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Ireland. Working hard for better understanding, trust and cooperation between China and the rest of the world. In 2009, co-founded with Bertie Ahern, the Council for Irish Chinese Co-operation, and serve as Executive Chairman. Since 2010, served as volunteer manager of the Dublin Institute of Technology of Ireland for its office in China. In June 2012, founded the Foundation of World Leadership and serve as CEO and President; World Leadership Forum as founding Secretary General; and International Research Institute for Xi Jinping Thought as founding Secretary General.
