Professional and political experience:

Lee Hong-koo is chairman of The Seoul Forum for International Affairs in Korea. He was the prime minister of South Korea from 1994-1995 under former President Kim Young-Sam. Before that Dr. Lee served twice as the deputy prime minister for unification dealing with the relation between the divided two Korean states. He was also a member of the Korean National Assembly and the chairman of then ruling New Korea Party. Dr. Lee was the Korean ambassador to the United Kingdom from 1991-1993 and to the United States from 1998-2000.
